Made-to-order nickel aluminium bronze bolts, nuts and stud bolts supplied to DEF STAN 02-833. Material certification and batch traceability with every order; heat treatment records where specified. Supply history into UK Royal Navy surface ship programmes.
DEF STAN 02-833 is the UK Ministry of Defence standard that specifies the material requirements for nickel aluminium bronze (NAB) used in naval and defence applications.
Part 2 defines the acceptable chemical composition, mechanical properties and heat treatment requirements for NAB forgings, forging stock, rods and sections. It is a material standard: finished fasteners made from that material are covered separately by DEF STAN 02-862 Part 2.
When a drawing specifies DEF STAN 02-833, it means the material must be verified against these requirements and supplied with full traceability documentation. For fasteners, this means material test certificates showing chemistry and mechanical properties, and heat treatment records where applicable.
The standard is a category 1 maritime Defence Standard applied across naval and maritime defence programmes — surface ships, submarines and auxiliaries. It is often referenced alongside NES 833 on Royal Navy surface ship drawings, particularly for legacy and refit programmes.

DEF STAN 02-833 requires full material traceability. Every order is supplied with the documentation your QA team needs.
Mill certificate showing chemical composition and mechanical properties to the specification ordered, supplied as standard.
Time-temperature records supplied where heat treatment is specified. Material heat treatment to control microstructure is governed by the material standard (DEF STAN 02-833 for NAB; DEF STAN 02-834 Pt 2, superseded by 02-879 Pt 2 Annex D in Sept 2011, for SAB). DEF STAN 02-862 Part 2 Para 8.2.4 (NAB) / 8.2.5 (SAB) defines the manufacturing and post-machining route for finished non-First Level fasteners, including stress relief where required. We supply to whichever the drawing calls up. DEF STAN 02-862 Part 2 covers Non-First Level fasteners; Part 3 covers First Level.
Every fastener traceable back to the original material heat. Batch records retained and available on request.
Conformance statement confirming supply to DEF STAN 02-833 specification, signed by our QA team.
